Ronacher Theater
RONACH THEATER
Along with the Raimund Theater, the Ronacher is another hotspot of the Viennese musical scene. The theater was originally built in the 19th century as an alternative to courtly theater for the general public. After a devastating fire, it was rebuilt in 1886 by Anton Ronacher and designed as a classical Variété stage.

Until the 1930s, acrobats and magicians performed here along with cabaret performers such as Josephine Baker.
But it was not until 1987 that the musical heavens opened over the Ronacher. And that was after the takeover of Vereinigte Bühnen Wien. The first big success was the audience hit "Cats.
Today, the Ronacher appears with its traditional facade in a technically renewed form. Since the stage has all kinds of state-of-the-art technologies, it is a box office hit for urban city theater.
