STADTPARK
The city park of Vienna is a popular meeting place for young and old. Because here you can picnic to your heart's content, feed the swans and ducks, or simply read on a sunny park bench. In any case, this charming garden is always bustling with activity. But on 65,000 square meters of space, everyone can still find a quiet spot for themselves. And there are even two fully equipped playgrounds for the little ones.
The city park is located between the Stubenring and passes into the 3rd district of Vienna Landstraße. It was built in 1870 according to the plans of the landscape painter Josef Selleny and is oriented to the English style.
But among roses, magnolias and lilacs, there are also numerous historical sculptures and monuments in the city park. The ambience is also very diverse. For among the business people on their lunch break, there are also newspaper-reading pensioners, roller-skating children, strollers, students and tourists. And everyone gets their money's worth here!
But the star among the Stadtpark sculptures is and remains the undisputed Waltz King! Don't forget to take a selfie with the golden Johann Strauss!
