PRATER

The Vienna Prater is one of the most popular leisure and recreation areas in Vienna. Its name originates from the 12th century and goes back to the family "de Prato".

Originally, the large wooded territory represented imperial hunting grounds. But under Joseph II the Prater was opened to the general public in the 18th century.

Today, Vienna's largest park stretches along the 5km long Prater Hauptallee along playgrounds, running tracks and barbecue areas.

The culinary highlight of the Prater is the Lusthaus. This former imperial hunting lodge serves Austrian cuisine at the highest level all year round. The Congress of Vienna also dined here.

Wurstelprater

Wurstelprater has gradually emerged from a collection of different entertainment in the Prater. The world-famous Ferris wheel is the crowning glory of this Viennese amusement park. As one of the landmarks of Vienna, the Giant Ferris Wheel invites you to a romantic round trip, on which you can overlook Vienna from a total height of 64.75 meters. When it was built in 1897, the Vienna Giant Ferris Wheel was the largest in the world.

Today, visitors will find a wide range of amusement booths, roller coasters, rides and snack stands. The world-famous Viennese amusement park convinces especially the youth with its latest technologies in the distinctive amusement offer.
