Museum Hundertwasser
MUSEUM HUNDERTWASSER
The famous Hundertwasser Museum is located in the Kunst Haus Wien in Vienna's 3rd district. As one of Austria's most important artists in the 20th century, Friedensreich Hundertwasser founded the Kunst Haus Wien in 1991, and accordingly the building is built according to his basic architectural and design principles. In this sense, it is a complement to the nearby Hundertwasser House, which is now operated as a residential building.
In addition to international temporary exhibitions, the museum brings together the artist's most important works on two levels. In this world's largest collection of his masterpieces, visitors are immersed in the philosophy and design art of the exceptional artist Hundertwasser.
Works from painting, graphic art, tapestry, architecture and applied art by Hundertwasser provide unique impressions of the artist's world.

In addition, the exhibition reports on his commitment to the environment and documents the history of Hundertwasser's ship "Rainy Day".
The overall impression of Vienna's first "green museum" presents Hundertwasser's aspiration of an architecture that is "fit for human beings and nature."
In the exhibition of Hundertwasser's paintings, visitors discover the artist's world of colors. Here you can get to the bottom of the principle of bright complementary colors. But the exhibition of original graphics is also a discovery in itself. Here one can understand the many techniques that the artist mastered, down to the smallest detail. In the tapestries, one can discover further pioneering steps by Hunderwasser in the art of weaving.
And finally, the exhibition of Hundertwasser architecture opens his fight against the "geometric straight line" and rationalism in architecture. Here you will explore the Viennese art scene on undulating paths in all its new logic!
