Based on this, the Funeral Museum opens up to visitors the world of mourning ceremonies and the funeral system in Vienna, yesterday and today. In the process, one learns about the "Viennese cult of the dead" of the 18th century and at the same time receives an overview of the history of Viennese cemeteries.
This interactive exhibition under the funeral hall 2, is accompanied by visual material. Among many other original objects, heart puncture knives and rescue alarm clocks testify to a time when people feared being buried alive.
