The Sluka on Rathausplatz has been an institution since 1891, when it became the k.u.k. Court supplier of confectionery goods. Since 2017, the cafe-pastry shop has a second location on Kärntnerstraße in the Inner City, which stands out for its chic style.

The location on Rathausplatz has also always been a popular meeting place for fine Viennese society. The pretty little room with its classic Thonet chairs is reminiscent of a highly elegant salon in a princely palace. Even personalities such as Empress Elisabeth or Oskar Kokoschka have graced this café as regular guests. Today you will often find yourself in the company of politicians from the nearby parliament.

Here, one finds oneself in an opulent setting with generous vaults, stucco and roof glazing between graceful columns. Architectural details from the 1920s and sophisticated mirror constructions give the new branch of Sluka a glamorous atmosphere. There is an excellent lunch menu here, which changes weekly. The range of cakes on offer in the showcase also matches the high standards of Sluka on Rathausplatz.
