ROMAN MUSEUM VIENNA
At the Hoher Markt in the center of Vienna, visitors can embark on a very special journey through time. Because in the Roman Museum you will experience the Vienna of antiquity. Via ruins from Roman times you enter the good old "Vindobona", which was the base of a Roman legion.
Here you can understand how the everyday life of Roman soldiers overlapped with that of the ancient Viennese population. In the remains of residential complexes can be identified houses of tribunes and furnishings. This includes toys and tableware, but also cult objects and traces of wall painting can be traced.

Using the latest technology, visitors get a realistic recreation of the cityscape of that time.
This cityscape, founded with a legionary camp around 100 AD, also includes a very comfortable standard of living. For the exhibition proves sidewalks with roofing, sewerage and a functioning water supply.
But in addition, entertainment and consumer sites such as theaters, baths and stores can be identified. This almost makes you think you've arrived in today's Vienna again! But the multilingual video guide ensures that you do not get the era wrong!
